Get ready to bust some ghosts and celebrate the beloved Ghostbusters franchise at this year's Ghostbusters Day! Whether you're a lifelong fan or new to the ghostbusting community, there's something for everyone at this action-packed event.

What is Ghostbusters Day?

Ghostbusters Day is an annual celebration of the iconic 1984 film "Ghostbusters". It started in 2014 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the movie’s release. Since then, it has grown into a beloved tradition that brings together fans from around the world.

Event Highlights

Actors Joe Cirillo and John Rothman, both stars of the original film, will be present to sign autographs to raise funds for the cause, while musical guests The Alessi Brothers and The Mad Splatter will perform live.

An epic Walking Tour of Filming Locations will also commence at 2:00 PM.

  • Hook & Ladder 8: The tour kicks off at the famous firehouse.

  • Statue of Liberty and Museum of the American Indian: A stop full of history and iconic movie moments.

  • New York Public Library: Relive the opening scene with the ghostly librarian.

  • Columbus Circle and 55 Central Park West: The final stop at the building known as "Spook Central."

In 2023 the tour was the largest yet, with over 120 participants from around the globe. Officially licensed NYC tour guides will lead the tour, sharing insider stories and behind-the-scenes tidbits about the filming locations.

  • Celebrate the Legacy: This year marks the 40th anniversary of the original "Ghostbusters," a film that has inspired countless fans and spawned a vibrant community. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire was also released this year.

  • Support a Good Cause: This year, the firemen at Ladder 8 have asked that the funds from this year's fundraiser be directed to The Tunnel to Towers Foundation. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is a charitable organization founded in tribute to New York Fire Department firefighter Stephen Siller, who was killed during the September 11 attacks. The foundation operates as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and helps families of September 11, first responders and veterans rebuild in part from funds raised through nationwide charity runs..
