What is Ghostbusters Day?
Ghostbusters Day is an annual celebration of the iconic 1984 film "Ghostbusters". It started in 2014 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the movie’s release. Since then, it has grown into a beloved tradition that brings together fans from around the world.
Due to its growing popularity, this year’s event will have 6 different sections, including an ECTO area, a stage and various merchandise booths.
Event Highlights
Filmmaker Jason Reitman will be present to kick off the event at noon and sign autographs to raise funds for the cause, while musical guests The Alessi Brothers and The Mad Splatter will return to perform live.
An epic 4-hour Walking Tour of Filming Locations will also commence at 3:30 PM.
Hook & Ladder 8: The tour kicks off at the famous firehouse.
Statue of Liberty and Museum of the American Indian: A stop full of history and iconic movie moments.
New York Public Library: Relive the opening scene with the ghostly librarian.
Columbus Circle and 55 Central Park West: The final stop at the building known as "Spook Central."
Officially licensed NYC tour guides will lead the tour, sharing insider stories and behind-the-scenes tidbits about the filming locations. The tour is free, but participants must cover their own fare for the three subway rides.

Support a Good Cause: This year, the firemen at Ladder 8 have asked that the funds from this year's fundraiser be directed to the Thomas Elsasser Fund. The charitable organization is dedicated to providing financial assistance, emotional support, and other essential resources to the widows, children, and dependents of members of the Uniformed Firefighters Association of Greater New York, Local 94 I.A.F.F., who have lost their lives under non-line-of-duty circumstances.
