Unsilent Night is one of our favorite free New York City holiday events. Composer Phil Kline will lead a massive chorus of boomboxes from the West Village to the East Village in this annual holiday presentation. Participants will gather at the arch in Washington Square Park at 5:45 pm, then make their way to Tompkins Square Park together, which is located less than a mile away.
Phil will hand out a limited number of vintage boomboxes from his collection, but you’re strongly encouraged to bring your own boomboxes or sound-blasters (cell phone with bluetooth is recommended). You can stream the track from the website or the mobile app, but downloading the track in advance is the safest way to avoid connection issues. Find all options here.
